Terms of Service

Welcome to Billionaires War (the “Site”, the “Service”). By accessing the Site, creating an account, or making any purchase you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

1. What this is

Billionaires War is a satirical, internet-native multiplayer game in which players spend small amounts of real money to claim and steal virtual countries on a world map. Countries are purely virtual and confer no real-world ownership, rights, citizenship, sovereignty, or political claim over any territory.

2. Not affiliated with anyone

Billionaires War is a parody. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Hasbro, Inc., the makers of MONOPOLY, Risk, or any other board-game franchise, by Twitter / X, Meta (Facebook, Instagram), TikTok, Google (YouTube), or by any government, country, head of state, or individual whose name might appear in user-generated content. Any resemblance to real-world entities is satire.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of forming a binding contract under the laws of your jurisdiction to create an account or make any purchase on the Site. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement.

4. Your account

• Accounts are created by signing in with a supported social provider (currently X / Twitter, Facebook, and YouTube; Instagram and TikTok are coming). We import your public display name and profile picture from the provider you choose; you can change both, plus your empire color, from your profile screen.
• You are responsible for all activity on your account. Keep your social-provider credentials secure.
• You may link additional social accounts to a single Billionaires War profile. We use the linked-account list as the way we recognise you across logins.
• You may delete your account by contacting us at the email at the bottom of this page.

5. How the game works

• Every country starts unclaimed. The first conqueror pays $1.
• Each subsequent conqueror pays previous price + $1. Prices only go up. The price is computed and validated by the server; clients cannot tamper with it.
• After a successful purchase, the country is locked for 15 minutes. During the lock nobody else can buy that country.
• Multiple players can have a “buy intent” on the same country at the same time (you'll see swords on the map). Only one purchase actually goes through — the first completed payment after the lock expires.
• Avatar size on the world map scales with total amount spent.

6. Payments & refunds

• All charges are processed by Stripe. We do not see, transmit, or store full card numbers — Stripe handles the card data directly under PCI DSS.
• All amounts are denominated in US dollars. Currency conversion, if any, is performed by your card issuer at checkout.
• A minimum chargeable amount of $0.50 may apply where the calculated price falls below the card-network minimum.
• Purchases are final once a country is recorded as acquired in your name. We do not offer cash refunds for in-game purchases except where required by law (for instance, in the event of a clear technical error or duplicate charge).
• When a country you own is later conquered by another player you do not get the money back. The price you paid is simply the entry fee you accepted at purchase time.

7. User content

Your display name and any avatar you upload or import are visible to other players on the world map and on the leaderboard. You are responsible for what you display. We may remove or change content that we judge to be illegal, hateful, or impersonating in bad faith.

8. Prohibited use

• No automated agents, scripts, scrapers, or bots that are not provided by us. The server reserves the right to rate-limit, ban, or void purchases originating from automation.
• No abusive, hateful, threatening, sexual, or unlawful display names, avatars, or linked handles.
• No attempt to interfere with, reverse-engineer, probe, or compromise the Site or its infrastructure.
• No use of the Service in violation of sanctions or export controls applicable to you.

9. Intellectual property

The Site, its name, logos, code, map artwork, and the underlying game mechanics are owned by the operator. Country names and shapes come from publicly-available geographic data (Natural Earth) and are used under their respective licenses. You retain ownership of any content you upload (display name, avatar) and grant us a non-exclusive license to display it within the Service.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, without notice. On termination your countries return to the world (the next player to pay the going price acquires them) and your account record is deleted within 30 days, except where we are required to retain payment records under tax or anti-fraud law.

11. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, that any conquest or payment will succeed, or that real-time events will be delivered without delay. Game state may briefly diverge across clients and we resolve conflicts in favour of the server record.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event will our total liability to you for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us in the 30 days preceding the claim, or (b) USD $100. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The courts of Madrid, Spain have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service, except where a mandatory consumer law of your country of residence grants you the right to bring proceedings before your local courts.

14. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Site after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
